Recognise the signal
Identify an early pressure cue, such as tension, faster speech, or the urge to interrupt.
HUMAN SKILLS OS — CORE
A practical two-week pilot to help managers pause, think clearly, and choose a more constructive response when workplace pressure rises.
THE WORKPLACE MOMENT
A colleague says, “We lost three weeks because your team didn’t deliver.” In that moment, a manager may feel blamed, become defensive, or rush to respond. The pilot gives participants a simple way to slow the reaction and choose a more useful next step.
“We lost three weeks because your team didn’t deliver.”
A more constructive response might be:
“I hear the concern about the delay. I want us to get the timeline right. Can we compare the dependencies and agree what needs to move by Thursday?”
WHAT PARTICIPANTS PRACTISE
Participants learn a simple sequence they can apply in a real conversation. The goal is not to suppress emotion or accept poor behaviour. It is to respond with greater awareness and choice.
Identify an early pressure cue, such as tension, faster speech, or the urge to interrupt.
Use Situation → Sensation → Story → Action to distinguish what happened from what you assume it means.
Practise a calm, clear response that acknowledges the issue and moves the conversation towards facts and action.
THE PILOT EXPERIENCE
A small, structured experience designed to fit around busy managers’ schedules.
Three short digital lessonsAbout 18–22 minutes of total lesson content.
One live cohort workshop75 minutes of guided scenario practice and discussion.
Workplace application challengeUse one tool during the following seven days and reflect on the experience.
Baseline, post-assessment, and sponsor summaryReview scenario responses, participation, and participant reflections. Results will be reported transparently.
HOW WE REVIEW THE PILOT
We propose a simple review of learning participation and scenario-based responses. The pilot will help both sides assess relevance and identify what to improve next.
Track whether participants complete the short digital lessons.
Compare baseline and post-pilot responses using a clear practice rubric.
Collect participant reflections on trying the tool in a real work situation.
Discuss usefulness, relevance, and recommended next steps with the sponsor.
LET’S EXPLORE THE FIT
We’ll start by understanding your managers, the situations they face, and what a useful pilot would need to achieve.
